Welcome to Alanwood Farm, a pristine and scenic 240-acre horse farm in Broad Run, Virginia, just 45 minutes west of Washington DC. We offer horse boarding and training, trail rides, riverside camping, and are also available as a venue for special events. With many miles of trails and creeks, gorgeous paddocks, equine agility courses, and a small menagerie of farm animals, there is something for everyone at Alanwood!

With its many acres of unspoiled landscape and varied topography, Alanwood is a natural retreat where busy people can slow down, unplug, and let the mind wander. The property boasts of thick woods, miles of trails, vast sunny meadows, peaceful ponds, clean refreshing streams, and a small scale horse farm. Alanwood’s rolling meadows, babbling brooks, and miles of pristinely kept hiking, biking, and riding trails offer the perfect getaway for nature lovers.
Visitors can explore the ruins of an old mansion or a civil war skirmish site, hike, camp, horseback ride, fish, mountain bike, or even play tennis. Keen observers will spot a wide variety of birds, butterflies and dragonflies, deer, and wild turkeys. Animal lovers will enjoy interacting with the resident horses, chickens, rabbits, and dogs.
